ART STUDENT’S SUCCESS

AUCKLAND GIRL IN LONDON THE winning of a bursary in the first half-year of her studentship at the Slade School of Art, London, is the unusual achievement of Miss Jocelyn Mays, late of Devonport. Miss Mays was a pupil at the Elam School of Art, Auckland, and left New Zealand last Juiy, beginning her course at the Slade School in September. A bursary is rarely handed to a student of such short acquaintanceship with the Slade School, the recipients being usually students of from three to four years’ standing.
