MEETING IN HAMILTON MANY REMITS PASSED (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. The continuation of the annual confei enec of the Waikato sub-provincial district of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held to-day, Mr. W. Lee Martin, M.P., presiding. Th© following remits were passed: "The New Zealand Produce Board should consist only of members elected by the dairy producers.” "The basis of the charges for rural telephones should be materially lowered.” "That primary producers should be allowed to place evidence before the Arbitration Court during the hearing of any disputes having a close bearing upon primary industry.” "That the conference considers the basis awards of the Arbitration Court should be the cost of living of a single man, plus a dependents’ allowance to be paid from a fund derived from employers by a payment a head on all employees who come under the "That the proportion of State advances to urban suburban security be on the same lines as that applicable to rural security.”
