CAR AND TAXI COLLIDE i A collision between a touring car j and a taxi-car in Ponsonby Jtoad about 4.45 last evening resulted in five of the seven passengers in the car being thrown out on to the road. They all received bruises and were taken to hospital by the St. John Ambulance. Miss Harriet Maddren, aged 19, was admitted with slight head injuries. The others, who were discharged, were: Mr. IT. Maddren, Mrs. Maddren and Mr. and Mrs. Girvan Maddren, of Penrose. The driver. Mr. Francis Maddren, and another passenger, were unhurt. The left hind wheel of the car was torn off and the side battered in, but the taxi was hardly damaged. This morning Miss Maddren’s condition is reported to be satisfactory.
