MOTOR-CYCLE BURNED

BOWSER HOSE ON FIRE GARAGE PROPRIETOR BURNED While the tank of a mo tor-cycle owned by Gilbert Mayo, and ridden by Leonard Mayo, of One Tree Hill, Auckland, was being filled with benzine at a service station at Papatoetoe on Saturday evening, the fumes suddenly ignited, and the cycle was soon enveloped in flames. The burning machine was removed clear of the bowsers, but not before one of the hoses attached to the pump was alight. Chemical extinguishers were brought into play, and the flames extinguished before any serious damage was done. Mr. R. C. Wallace, proprietor of the garage, received burns, while removing the cycle, which was destroyed.
