GRASS FIRES IN CITY

EIGHT CALLS FOR BRIGADE The City Fire Brigade received eight calls to grass fires, one to a burning motor-car, and one to a false alarm between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Three of the grass fires were in the Domain, three at Remuera and two at Tamuki. The car which was damaged was owned by Mr. G. J. Burnand and caught fire in St. Andrew’s Road, Epsom, about 9.40 p.m. on Saturday, little damage was done. Tlie false alarm was a well-inten-tioned one, and camo from Fonsonby.
