ONEHUNGA SPRINGS TESTED Onehunga has no occasion to fear a water shortage. Bast we’ek the principal spring was subjected to a severe test, the whole of - the pumping gear at th® station in Princes Street being brought into operation for two hours. Although 62,000 gallons of water an hour were drawn off, the water remained at the same level. Cr. TI. A. Stoupe, chairman of the Waterworks Committee, reported to the Onehunga Borough Council at its me* ting last evening that the electric pumps recently installed snowed an p. nnual saving of 4:1,048. Tn addition to this the Power Board reported the installation of static condensers * mailing a further annual saving of £ 48.
