HIGH JERSEY RECORDS (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Monday. Franklin Jerseys under semi-official test are well to the fore again. For February, Daisy’s Buttercup,owned by G. H. Selby, of Waiuku, is leading in the class foi' mature cows. Although ten years of age when she began her test, this cow has recorded a total of 84.661 b. of butter-fat for her period. The highest producer for the Dominion during the previous month, January, was T. Brownlee’s (Pukekolie), Beresford Belle. This months she holds fourteenth place on the list. During her lactation period of 70 days she produced 224.781 b. Jersey Brae Princess Mary’ also owned by Mr. Brownlee, another cow in the same class, has given 1391 b. of fat in 73 days. In the four-year-old class, Ivondale Duchess Karaka, a cow owned by G. R. and H. Hutchinson, of Wharepapa, produced 901 b. of fat in 46 days. Their heifer in the junior two-year-old class, Lindon Grove Dolcebell, yielded 170.131 b. in 110 days. In 13S days G. E. Yelchich's (Waiuku) ‘Princess Mermaid lias recorded 3531 b. of butterfat. This cow is making a bold bid for the Highest Producers’ Cup. His other animal in the same class is ‘Velebit Fox’s Freda, and she gave 651 b. in 31 days. The heifer, Velebit Flower, in the junior two-year-old class, has in 153 days yielded 2681 b. W. Robinson’s (Patumahoe) cow. 111ston Necklace. produced 484.811 b. in 214 days.

SYDNEY WOOL SALES

STRONG COMPETITION STILL (United P A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) SYDNEY, Monday. At the Sydney wool sales to-day, 11,502 bales were sold. The best features of last week’s sale were again in evidence. There was strong general competition, Japanese and Yorkshire buyers being prominent. The market was generally firm, and a good clearance was effected. Greasy Merino sold to 331.

FACTORY FOR NEWCASTLE

CAPITAL OF £1,000,000 Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A factory for the manufacture of steel and iron pipes is likely to be established in the Newcastle district before the end of the year.
