AD-PAPERS and NEWSPAPERS
THE SUN gives readers best value
A contemporary has been joyfully flaunting the volume of its advertising in the face of its readers, and claims that as an ad-paper it stands alone. Perhaps it does.
But it is more important to be a newspaper than an ad-paper. The public buys a paper to read the news, and this claim at least can be made for THE SUN: It is one of the biggest newspapers in the British Empire, and gives more news matter and pictures every week than any other paper in New Zealand.
The following is a careful record of the space devoted to news and general reading, etc., by the Auckland daily papers in column inches during 1928:
These figures show that during 1928 THE SUN gave over 49,000 inches more news, etc., than one of its competitors, and over 45,000 inches more than the other.
