MANCHESTER ODDFELLOWS
ANNUAL CONFERENCE The Manchester Unity Oddfellows will commence the annual conference in the Manchester Unity Hall next Wednesday, when over 100 delegates will be present, representing 60 lodges, which comprise the Auckland district, and covering practically all the old provincial boundaries from llokianga to Gisborne and Taumarunui. The grand lodge officers, Bro. F. Pritchard, grandmaster, Bro. 11. S. M. Quigley, deputy-grandmaster, and Bro. H. S. Shrimpton, grand secretary, are coming from the South to conduct the installations of the incoming district officers.
The Auckland district is steadily increasing in membership and funds, the total membership being 7,131, with a district capital of £168,000. The amount of £25,000 was paid as benefits to members during the year just closed. The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. Baildon, has promised to give an official reception to the grand lodge officers and delegates.
