WHITE ISLAND
VITAL TO THE ECONOMIC WEALTH OF NEW ZEALAND! Can you imagine a natural pasture'! so rich in feed value that, despite danger to stock from lions, the pastoralists of the district use it for grazing their herds and flock? Such are the conditions at Xgorongoro, Tanganyika Territory. Africa. Ngorongoro is an extinct volcanic crater ten miles across knee-deep in succulent pasture. Roughly, 150,000 head of big game, zebras, wildebeeste, giraffes, etc., graze it the year round. There is no rotation of grazing. The Masai, the pastoralists of the district, although only natives, know when they are well off. They do not bother to make a pasture; they take and use that which Nature has provided —the world's richest pasture. You, despite your intelligence, or perhaps because of it. are not cared for by Nature as are the wild peoples. Yet Ngorongoro, as the result of volcanic activity, is rich in minerals and sulphur. In New Zealand Nature has supplied the same volcanic product, rich in minerals and sulphur, but not so conveniently situated as at Ngorongoro. She has left it to your superior intelligence to apply her product how and where you require it—so that the converting of your pasture into the world’s richest pasture is in. your own hands. All soils contain mineral constituents which, if they could be taken up by plant life, would account for a tremendous increase in productivity; but they are insoluble. Scientists have proved that sulphur renders soluble these minerals so that they can be assimilated by the pasture as food. The pasture then becomes rich in mineral salts and sulphates. Mineral salts and sulphates are absolutely essential to all life. In dairy cows they improve their health, resulting in increased productivity, and at the same time they increase the quality of the produce.
White Island Product is a concentrated product of New Zealand, increasing the productivity of New Zealand soil.
