PASSING THROUGH AUCKLAND
TWO GIRLS ON WORLD TOUR Miss Gladys de Havilland, sister of the famous British designer of airplanes, and Miss Mona Eley, an English journalist, are motoring round the world. They left London on October 19 for New York, travelled across America in their little car to San Francisco, and arrived at Wellington on Monday by the R.M.S. Tahiti. They will arrive in Auckland probably some time to-day. From here- they leave for Sydney. From Sydney their journey will be continued overland via Melbourne and Adelaide to Perth, where they will sail for Calcutta. Their route will then be through India and across Europe, back to London, which place they hope to reach on April 22. The trip is being undertaken by these two English girls as an enjoyable and interesting adventure, without attempting any records, but to cover such a journey with a tiny car is no mean performance for two girls travelling alone.
