200-MILE RACE IN MARCH PHILLIP ISLAND CIRCUIT The Victorian Light Car Club has decided to hold a 200-mile light car road race for cars up to 2,000 c.c. on the track on Phillip Island, where the 100-mile race was held last March. The race will be held on March 18, 1929. Extensive alterations and improvements are being made to the track. In order to make definite arrangements as to the number of classes to be provided for, the club will accept provisional entries until January 1929, but late entries may be considered. It is thought that the number of those wishing to compete will be far in excess of the number that can be accepted, and, in accepting entries, preference will be given to those who have lorged provisional entries before January 8, 1929. The committee reserves the right to refuse to accept any provisional entry, or having accepted a provisional entry, to refuse an entry. Provisional eiV tries must state: —Make of car, engine capacity, if fitted with super-charger, name of driver, and can be lodged with Mr. W. J. Middleton, 32 Gipps Street, Collingwood, Victoria. This is the only motor-car road race held in Australia, and will be called the Australian Grand Urix.
