“THE HEART THIEF” When Joseph Schildkraut starred in "The Highwayman,” on the New York stage, he could not foresee that he was destined to be featured in the same role on the screen. The. play, which has been screened under the title of "The Heart Thief," presents Mr. Schildkraut in the featured leading role, and featured with him are also Lya de Putti, the famous Hungarian actress who triumphed in "Variety," and Robert Edeson, one of the most popular figures of the screen. The story deals with the love romance of a Hungarian peasant girl, a gambler and a nobleman. There are numerous dramatic and thrilling scenes and in the course of the action Mr. Schildkraut fights two duels. Miss de Putti is afforded many opportunities for the display of her mimetic talents, which are of a high order. The supporting cast includes Charles Gerra.rd, Eulalie Jensen, George Reohm, William Bakewell and others. The picture will be shown for the first time in Auckland at Everybody’s Theatre this evening. "The Big Killing," the latest Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton comedy, will also be shown this evening.
