SOUTH AUCKLAND TOURNEY
The South Auckland croquet championships opened on Thursday last in ideal weather conditions. The singles were played on the Prankton courts and the doubles at Hamilton. The championship doubles were won by Mrs. White and Mrs. Keys, of Auckland, Mrs. Coombes and Mrs. Hodgkinson, of Hamilton, being the runners-up. The other handicap doubles were won by Mrs. Bay ley and Mrs. Curling, of Claudelands, the runners-up being Mrs. Hepburn and Mrs. Bliss, of Te Aroha. The singles were won by Mrs. Bartlett (Hamilton), with 'Mrs. Keys (Auckland) runner-up. Among the spectators were: Mesdames Gane (Cambridge), Lucas, Hambly, Griffiths, Gillman, Morris, Grant, Webster, L. Sheppard, Totman (Te Kuiti), G. Seifert, Roberts, Paice, Wilkes, E. M. Masters, Gough, R. Coombes. Bartlett, Yorke, Goldsbury, Turbott, Hodgkinson, Higgins, White (Auckland), Kibblewhite, Meikle (Te Aroha), B.
