PRAISE AND BLAME FOR TEST SELECTORS
Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Old-time cricketers, including Turner, Hopkins, Waddy and Garrett, favour more new blood in the Australian test teams. They cannot understand why Nothling, Bettington and A. Beckett were omitted. Others defend the selectors and argue that batsmen must be the first consideration, saying Australia cannot afford to lengthen the tail.
