GUNMEN’S GRIM REVENGE
( United Service) Reed. 11 a-m. NEW YORK. Friday. While sitting in his home, PoliceChief Leroy Gilbert, South Chicago Heights, Chicago, was shot dead and his wife was wounded by gunmen, who escaped. It is alleged that the act was a revenge for the arrest of a bootlegger comrade.
