VARICOSE VEINS CURE

BY LOCAL INJECTION NEW METHOD IN LONDON (United Service) Reed. 7.30 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Thor-:h it is a delicate operation, necessitating confinement of the injected solution to an interior vein, a new treatment for varicose veins by local injection is asserted by the “Daily Mail’s” medical writer to afford a complete cure, except in the. most advanced cases. He points out that it supersedes the old method of tying the veinß. A solution of quinine or salicylate of soda is injected in an ordinary hypodermic glass syringe and irritates the lining of the vein, clots of blood effectively blocking the blood vessel. A single injection is usually suffici. ent. A general anaesthetic is unnecessary. Treatment is available at most of the London hospitals. It Is so popular that it has necessitated the setting up of several special clinics.
