REBELS REPULSED
AFGHANS FIGHT FIERCELY ASSAULT ON JALALABAD (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) DELHI, Thursday. Rebel Shinwari tribesmen again attacked Jalalabad. However, they were repulsed by tlio Afghan garrison after a fierce fight, in which there were several hundred casualties. The buildings previously wrecked in the city by the tribesmen include the British Post Office and Civil Service quarters. Many new cars and lorries, the property of the State, were burned. The road from Peshawar to Jalalabad is infested with raiding gangs and is unsafe without escorts. Afghan reinforcements are hurrying to the area for an advance into the wild tribal country-
