BEQUEST TO PROVIDE HOMES OPOTIKI MAN’S GENEROSITY t From Our Oun Correspondent) OPOTIKI, Thursday. | Mr. George Cuthbertson, who died in the Opotiki Public Hospital last night in his SOth year, in his will directed that his estate, which is ap- | proximately of the value of £3.000, should be held in trust, and within a period of five years be utilised for ' the erection and maintenance of cottage homes far widows in necessitous circumstances. The homes will j be known as the Cuthbertson Homes. : Messrs. G. B. Murray and S. E. Webb have been appointed executors ! and trustees to carry out the trust of I the will. Detailed instructions were given by the testator in regard to the erection, i maintenance and use of the Cuthbertson Homes. Mr., Cuthbertson was born in Woolwich. England, and worked in Wool- j wich Arsenal until he came to Xew j Zealand 33 years ago. Shortly after 1 liio arrival in this country he came i to Opotiki. where he resided till the time of his death.
