Control of maggots of blowflies in sheep oy means of a natural enemy was undertaken in 1926 by Dr. Miller, chief entomologist of the department of the <'awrhron Institute, when holding the jvosi.fun of New Zealand Government entomologist. By arrangement with the department, this work has been continued at Cawthron Institute, and Dr. Miller has been successful in his experiments. Part of the Cawthron insectarium has been set apart for mass production of parasites, end the second brood since winter is now being distributed. These distributions v ill be made throughout the coming summer and autumn, when it is expected that the parasites will be sufficiently established for practical purposes. The Live Stock Division is assisting in the distribution of supplies, which have hffn sent to stock inspectors 1n different districts.
