HIPPODROME AND EMPRESS
“HELLO, CHEYENNE “Hello Cheyenne!” a Fox Films production starring' Tom Mix, to be shown for the first time at the Hippodrome and Empress Theatres this evening:, is a rather unusual Western. The contest between two rival contracting companies in laying a telephone line between Cheyenne and Rawhide is the basis for an engaging photoplay. Mix heads a noteworthy cast and is responsible for many thrilling episodes. The spectacular race between the rival companies brings to mind the difficulties our earlier telephone companies experienced while laying the first transcontinental telephone line. The second feature this evening will be “East Side, West Side,” a story of New York to-day with its love, hates and passions, and of a poor boy who rose to the heights of wealth. George O’Brien and Virginia Valli are the stars.
