DRUNKEN SAILOR KILLED EVIDENCE AT INQUEST Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Circumstances which led to the death of Cyril William Nesbitt, aged | 22, of H.M.S Dunedin, between Uppc» I Hutt and Trentham in the early morn- ; ing of October 30, were inquired into | by Mr. E. Page, S.M. i Evidence showed Nesbitt and a com- ; panion had been at a local hotel and : on the way back to camp at Trentham | decased became drowsy and lay down on the road. His compainion, LeadignStoker Toy, sat down beside him, and later both were struck by a motorlorry. Deceased was taken to a police station and then to a doctor. In finding that deceased was accii dentally killed by being run over by a motor-lorry, Mr. Page said the lorry was badly lighted and did not eomplv with the regulations. He was not satisfied, however, tjiat even with good lights, the accident could have been avoided. Two men in dark blue uniforms, who were not moving, would be hard to pick up.
