Mr. P. J. Ilayman left for "Wellington by the Limited last evening. Bishop Cherrington has left Hamilton to visit Taranaki. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. ,T. G. Coates, and Mrs. Coates, are at the Grand Hotel. The Rev. J. Adams, of Frankton. has been appointed domestic chaplain to Bishop Cherrington. Mr. John Alexander, C.M.G., returned to* Auckland yesterday morning from a visit to Wellington. Professor W. Hewitson and Mrs. Kewitson were among the arrivals on the Limited this morning from Wellington. Dr. Campbell Duncan, balneologist at Rotorua, joined the Limited at Frankton Junction last evening en route to Wellington. Mr. M. J. Moodabe and Mrs. Moodabe, who have been visiting Christchurch for the racing carnival, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. F. D. Thomson. C.M.G., head of the Prime Minister’s Department, and Mr. T. R. Aitken, private secretary to the Prime Minister, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. William Cochran, jun., of Pennsylvania. has been appointed United States Vice-Consul at Auckland, states an Australian and New Zealand Press Association message from Washington. Engineer-Commander C. Marchant, of the Devonport Naval Base, has transferred his off>cial residence from Admiralty Cottage. Calliope Dock, to Coronation Road. Birkenhead. Mr. D. 11. S. Riddiford, of Featherston, has been appointed to the Wanganui College Board in succession to the late Mr. Robert Wilberton. Mr. Riddiford is an old boy of the Wanganui Collegiate School.
