• ELECTION OF OFFICERS At its annual conference yesterday, tho New Zealand Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Federation dealt with a lengthy programme. The day’s session ended at 6 p.m. A dinner was held in the evening. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. J. J. Corry (Blenheim); vicepresident, Mr. E. A. Rowe (Wellington); executive, Messrs. George T. Stevens (Invercargill), F. L. Smith (Ashburton), W. H. Prentis (Auckland), and E. E. Stoupe (Wellington); North Island president, ' Mr. C. McCullough (Auckland); South Island president, Mr. J. M. Fraser (Dunedin). A vote of thanks was passed for the services of the retiring president, Mr. Charles F. Rosser, of Auckland. Mention was made by Mr. Rosser of the death of Mr. H. D. Robertson, who had figured prominently in the trade. The delegates stood in silence as a mark of respect.
