“CHICKEN A LA KING” When a middle-aged, home-loving husband suddenly goes on a rampage and becomes infatuated with a chorus girl on whom he lavishes more clothes and gifts in a few months than he did on his wife in 20 years, what should the poor wife do? This Question receives a delightful and unexpected answer in “Chicken a La King,” Fox Films' rollicking movie fare offered at the Lyric Theatre, where it was shown to a capacity audience again on Saturday evening. In this picture the wife instead of sitting back and weeping helplessly or threatening divorce, forms a partnership with the girl with results that are highly diverting for all except friend husband. “Chicken a La King” is one picture that is sure to pleace every taste. Nancy Carroll gives a splendid performance as the “gold digging” chorus girl, and George Meeker is inimitable as her jealous lover. Arthur Stone, Ford Sterling, Frances Lee and Carol Holloway are also at their best in what is probably the best laugh-pro-voker seen locally for some time. Those who love pictures of the great outdoors and abounding in splendid mountain photography will be delighted with “Wyoming,” the second picture on the programme. Tim McCoy is seen at his best as the resourceful Indian fighter and Dorothy Sebastian makes a.beautiful heroine.
