CLAIMS ADMITTED

FIVE CHANNEL SWIMMERS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) LONDON, Saturday. The Channel Swimming Association has admitted the claims of the late Captain Matthew Webb (1575), T. W. Burgess (1911), S. Tirabosche 0923), Miss Gertrude Ederle (1926) and Mrs. Corson (1926) to have swum the Channel. It will later consider the eight remaining claims.

The following persons were at the time reported to have swum the Channel: C. Toth 0923): H. Vierkotter. G. Michel and N. L. Derham (1926); E. H. Temme. Miss M. Gleitze and Mrs. Ivy Gill (1927).
