ELEVEN insane criminals, including five murderers, were turned loose at midnight when the Central State Hospital for the Insane, at Nashville, was (burned. - Lightning’ struck the building, and short-circuited the wiring. Fire raced through the huge buildings. The attendants rushed through the corridors, loosening altogether 2,270 lunatics. It is believed not one life was lost, as the patients, some laughing, some screaming, ran forth. In spite of the vigilance of the police, hundreds escaped to the nearby fields. The damage is £IOO,OOO.
