ERECTION OF NEW ART GALLERY (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. A proposal that the new Art Gallery which, is being presented to the city should be erected on the present site of the wooden portion of the Provincial Council buildings was made to the Mayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, to-day by members of tjie special committee set up by th© Citizens’ Association. The Mayor assured the deputation that there was no objection to the deputation’s taking steps with a view to endeavouring to persuade the Government to hand over the land to the city.
