Mr. Currie Tops the Winning Owners' List

WELLINGTON, Wednesday. From statistics published in Wellington this afternoon, it is seen that the leading owner for the season which is just closing is Mr. G. M. Currie, the Koatanui breeder and owner. His team is credited with £7.480. His best winner was Mask, with C 3,025. The season’s leading two-year-old, Episode, won him £2,585 in stakes, and Damaris is credited with £1,190. Mr. Currie won £6,907 10s in the previous season and £9,145 in the season before, so that in three seasons £23.892 10s has come his way from racing stakes. The earnings of Prince Humphrey and others have placed Mr. C. G. Macindoe second on the list with £6,800, nearly twice as much as liis team won last year. His principal winners were: Prince Humphrey £2,375, Eden Hall £1,385, Le Choucas £1,300. and Ti Tree £1,230. STAR STRANGER’S SUCCESS Mr. A. B. Williams, owner of that good performer Star Stranger, is third on the list with £ 6,450, of which sum Star Stranger won £4,630 and Joy King £1,635. Mr. G. Paul won £6,070, mainly through Aussie £3,310 and Awarere £2,010, and others who drew big cheques were Mr. J. M. Samson (Wayward £1,065 and Tuki £1,200), Mr. W. R. Kemball £5,184 (Hynanna £2,717), Sir George Clifford £4,962 (Childsplay £1,860), Mr. G. D. Greenwood £4,580 (Agrion £1,700, Goblin Market £1,0S0), Mr. R. B. Hines £4,202 (Queen Arch £1.240, King Lu £1,700), and Mr. G. G. Holmes £4,678 (Rapier £4,135). Lucullus leads among llie sires, his stock having won about £17,480. The season’s best individual stake winner was Star Stranger, whose earnings amounted to £ 4,630.
