BRING-AND-BUY SALE
To augment the funds of the Takapuna Ci'oquet Club a successful “bring and buy” sale was held yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. W. Hayden, in Lake Road, Takapuna. Mrs. Hayden was assisted by Mrs. Taylor to receive the guests, who included Mrs. Waugh (New Plymouth), Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Holyoak. Mrs. Seaton, Mrs Seaton, junr., Mrs. A. White, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Gittos. Mrs. Cutler, Mrs. Foster. Mrs. C. Brinsden, Mrs. M. Thompson, Mrs. MacMurtrie, Mrs. Crosher, Mrs. O’Halloran. Mr \ G. Cooper. Mrs. Riddell. Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Vaile. Mrs. Allan, Mrs. White, Mrs. Billett, Mrs. Fenton and Mrs. Newell.
When icing lamingtons, don’t cut the cake into cubes and dip into icing; cut into lengths and spread with slightly thicker icing, one side at a time, adding the sprinkling of cocoanut as you go. Then cut into cubes and ice the ends.
