DENTAL EXPERTS MEET AMERICANS AT CONFERENCE Press Association. WELLINGTON. To-day. The conference of the New Zealand Dental Association opened to-day. Mr. Lawrence Taylor presided. He expressed to the American visitors how much their presence was appreciated. America had long been looked upon as the home of dentistry, and many of New Zealand’s most successful practitioners had graduated at American universities. The training at the Dental College at Dunedin, of which they had reason to be proud, was laid down largely on the lines of American colleges. Replying, Mr. Mauk said that for the first time in his life he realised the meaning of the term “hands across the sea.’’ Because of professional endeavour and scientific achievement, there was no barrier between the countries. He extended an invitation for New Zealand dentists to be present at the Pacific Coast Conference at San Francisco in 1929.
