SUDDEN DEATH An inquest regarding the death of Richard Harris, of Rotorua, contractor, who died on Sunday morning, was held on Monday before Mr. W. L. Richards, J.P., deputy-coro'ner, and a jury of four. Mrs. Harris deposed that she was awakened in the early hours by her husband gasping fo.r breath. She immediately sent for a doctor who, on arrival, pronounced life to be extinct. Dr. W. S. Wallace, in giving evidence, stated that death was due to heart failure, the heart being diseased and largely dilated. The' jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony. • • * The* War Pensions Board commenced its sittings this afternoon. A total of 26 claims are before the board for adjudication.
