TE AWAMUTU HIGH SCHOOL

COMMITTEE MEETS The Te Awamutu District High School Committee met on Tuesday evening and decided to again make representations to the Minister of Education, the Hon. R. A. Wright, about securing some property adjoining the main school in an endeavour to consolidate school interests. The five properties in the town at present belong to the department. The committee contends that some of these could be disposed of to get the money necessary to acquire the property alongside the main school. The question of having commercial instruction given in secondary schools was actively moved.

The reply from the Auckland Education Board was that it was favourable, but they could not persuade the Minister to make the necessary allocation.
