PLUNKET SOCIETY AT TE AWAMUTU
A special meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Plunket Society took place on Tuesday for the purpose of obtaining the formal consent of its members to the incorporation of the branch. Mrs. H. Y. Collins, vice-president, was in the chair, w r hile there w r ere 17 other ladies present. Mrs. Jas. Oliphant kindly attended, and said that the necessary legal formalities were correctly complied with. Correspondence from the head office in connection with the annual levy imposed on branches in respect of head office expenses was dealt with. It was decided to leave the matter over till next meeting. The secretary reported that Putaruru had finally decided not to join the local branch as a sub-branch. It was decided, in order to 'augment the funds, to hold a five days’ baby carnival in November. The nurse’s monthly report showed 10 new cases for the month of June. The analysis was as follows: Mothers, 5; babies, 5; babies solely breast-fed, 3; complemented, 2; artificially fed, 0; visits to homes by nurse, 65; visits to rooms by adults, 94; visits to rooms by babies, 71; visits to rooms by older children, 31; total, 266; telephone calls, 12; babies under supervision, 130; older children under supervision, 29.
Accounts amounting to £2 were passed for payment.
