CONDITIONS . SHOULD BE IDEAL BEST VIEW AT 7.30 O’CLOCK 'THIS evening ali eyes will be turned heavenwards. Given the weather which prevailed last evening, residents of Auckland should witness a total eclipse of the mcon in ideal conditions. The best time to see the eclipse will be about 7.30 o'clock, when the face of the moon will be covered with the shadow of the earth. if the sky is as clear as it has been to-day the moon should be a. dull red or copper colour. The eclipse will begin soon after ;he moon rise at about five o’clock, and will continue until 9.36, when the moon will move out of the shadow of the earth.

Soon after 7.39 o’clock the moon will he in full shadow, and the watches will have the best view of the phenomenon.
