OPOTIKI BOARD MEETS (From Our Resident Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, To-day. The monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Electric-Power Board was held at Opotiki on Wednesday. Present: Mr. H. R. Hogg (chairman), Messrs. Hon. J. B. Gow, G. S. Moody, Burt, McCracken, Hewitt and Tabb. Mr. Hogg thanked members for returning him again as chairman, and said he would discharge liis duties to the best of his ability. An objection was raised by residents of Paerata Ridge in connection with the power line going over the school grounds. It was pointed out that special precautions would be taken and no other suitable route was available. The chairman and the engineer will deal with the question. The Public Trustee wrote stating that the board’s loan of £IOO,OO was being attended to. and that £20,000 would be deposited to the board’s account shortly. In reply to a question, the secretary stated that the board had spent, roughly, £17,000 up to the present. Included in this amount was £9,000 for steel, also the board’s building and all cement.
