THE DUNEDIN CLUB

A SUCCESSFUL EVENING The Dunedin Club held its first social for the 1927 season in the club rooms last evening, when a pleasingnumber of members and guests were present. The rooms were delightfully decorated with vivid autumn flowers, forming an attractive setting for the soft colouring of the many charming gowns*, worn there. The guests were received by Mrs. K. Raymond, who wore a handsome gown of black lace combined with panne velvet. Flag bridge was played and dancing indulged in during the evening, while a number of pleasing musical items were given, including a pianoforte solo by Mr. Eric Maxwell, a saxophone solo by Mr. L. Paddy, a violin solo by Mr. Ronald Muston, and accompaniments by Mrs. R. N. Read. Among those present were: Mesdames Oliver, wearing cyclamen georgette; Lowry, black panne velvet; Hunter, black satin beaute with striking trimming of jet; Colgrove, geranium red georgette; Reid, ashes of roses georgette; Dodd, bois de rose crepe de chine; Gow, ravenswing blue embossed georgette; Murdock, handsomely beaded black georgette; Calwald, opal blue georgette; Young, maize georgette with Oriental lace; Dickinson, crocus-mauve lame; McGuire. filmy black georgette; Hamilton, black frock with silver beading; Gaudin, black and silver gown; Misses Falkner, black lace; Bell, rose pink georgette; E. Robinson, black panne velvet: Clark, blue broche satin and lace: J. Alexander, blue and cyclamen georgette.
