SUNDAY WEDDING
AT PALMERSTON NORTH “Palmerston North, and probably New Zealand witnessed its first Sunday wedding,” says the “Manawatu Daily Times” in reference to a marriage celebrated at All Saints’ Church on Easter Day. The decorations formed a beautiful setting for the wedding party, which consisted of the bride, Irene Millicent, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Jones, and the bridegroom, William Ogier, of Wanganui. The Rev. G. W. Dent performed the ceremony. The bride was in a charming gown of ivory georgette, with a tulle veil enveloping her, worn with orange blossoms, and carrying a shower bouquet. The matron of honour was Mrs. Young, and Miss Ogier was bridesmaid. The former wore pink crepe de chine, and the latter fawn and mauve lace, each with a hat to match. Mr. E. Ogier was best man and Mr. L. Jones was groomsman. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, and later Mr. and Mrs. William Ogier left by the Limited for the North.
