Though it has risen somewhat, pressure is still low to the east of New Zealand. A very intense anticyclone covers eastern Australia and is advancing slowly eastwards. ’
The forecast is for- moderate to l strong winds between west and south, reaching' gale force at ftmles. The weather will be cold and changeable l with passing showers, and, on the mountains, snow. It should be improving gradually to-morrow. Seas rough, with a heavy south-westerly swell.
