Heavy Rain And Floods In Wairarapa.

Press Association —Copyright. Masterton, August 30. Fairly heavy rain fell in the Wairarapa district Inst night and to-day about 1-1 inches being recorded at Masterton up to 6 p.m. to-night. Flooding of lowlying arens occurred in parts of the district, notably between Carterton and Greytown near the Waiohine River and in the lower-Teaches of the Ruamabanga, but these areas are always subject to floods with heavy rain. An area at Tahawa was also flooded to some extent, but the water is reported to be dropping again following the cessation of rain.
