Mr S. D. Earle, Masterton, who has been transferred to the Stratford branch of the Public Trust Office, arrived on Saturday. He will take the place of Mr A. Houston, who leaves on Wednesday for Auckland. i

Mr B. J. McCarthy, of the Wellington staff of the Bank of New Zealand, has received notice of his transfer to Sydney. Mr McCarthy, who is a son of Mr B. McCarthy, Hawera, has taken a prominent part in tennis and while, stationed at Hawera was a loading member of the Hawera Golf) Club and Football Club.

Mr W. A. O'Callaghan, ■ Hawera was nominated by the Automobile' Association (South Taranaki) oU] Saturday night for re-election to the board of directors of the N.I.M.U. Insurance Company. Congratulations were extended to Mr Callaghan upon his re-election as president of the N.I.M.U. "He has the confidence of all the associations and is carrying out his job very' well indeed," said the chairman, Mr W. 0- Williams.
