Maile Selassie Rests In Jerusalem.

Thin faced, worn and greying, the Emperor Haile Selassie is resting at the Hotel Javid, guarded by a solitary British senry, says the Jerusalem correspondent A the Daily Herald. His secretary confirms that the Emperor ras deposited between £4,000,000 and 35,000.000 in London banks. The Empress has her own fortune divided be,weon banks at Paris, Cairo and Jerualum. The Emperor in addition brought C 1,500,000 in gold, leaving the silver at \ddis Ababa for the soldiers. 1 One hundred steel boxes, believed to contain Haile Selassie’s fortune, were unloaded from the cruiser Enterprise. The Emperor drank champagne with bis meals aboard the Enterprise and :pent two days with his treasurer, countng his gold and silver. He has a large python as a pet. Haile Selassie visited the Holy Sepulchre and subsequently changed his room for one overlooking the roadway. He watches the traffic with field glasses. He told the Press: “I cannot believe the League of Nations will not seek reparaion on behalf of a weak nation against i stronger one which has been condemn.d as an aggressor.”
