“The Flyrnsf Doctor” To Be fyiade Ip. Australia. CHARLES FARRELL IN CAST. Wellington, This Day. Mr. Charles Farrell, of Hollywood, a well-known movie actor, will arrive at Auckland, on Friday next to take part in "The Flying Doctor,” Hie active production of which is to commence shortly at the new National Studies, Pagewood, Sydney. Mr. R. K. Crick, managing-director of the Fox Film Corporation, Sydney, who is at present in Wellington, in an interview with "The Dominion” yesterday, 'said that the new picture represented the first real attempt to make hig international productions in this part of the world. Among those ■who had already arrived from Hng’and to assist in Hie making of “The Flying Doctor” were Mr. Milc s Mander. director. Captain .1. Orton, who is in charge of the scenario, Air. T. Conacliio, finance director, and Mr Derek Williams, cameraman. The company was awaiting the arrival of Mr Farrell. The cost of picture would he somewhere about £-10,000. Mr. Crick said that the Fox "Film Corporation had enlarged its scope of distribution in Australia and New Zealand by the acquisition of the famous 20th Century productions, ■which included "'the Alan who Drake the Hank at Monte Carlo,” with Ronald Column in the lead; “Mot/opoHlnn” (Lawrence Tihhett), "Message to Garcia” (Wallace Decry), ‘‘Under Two Flags” (Ronald Column and Simon Simone), “Professional Soldier” (Victor ATcLaglan). In addition, Fox Film Corporation would, release "The Rebel” and "Captain January,” both of which starred Shirley Temple. Another hig feature coining from the Fox Studio would hr “Ramona,” in colour. Afr. Crick added that the astounding improvement in British production was clearly shown in “The Tunnel” and "First a Girl,” both of which would he released in New Zealand shortlv.
