Miss Jessie Hunt, in view of her approaching marriage, was ed at morning tea ' yesterday by Manoys, Ltd., by which firm she has been' employed for a number of years. Miss Manoy was hostess. A presentation was made to Miss Hunt on behalf of the firm and best wishes tended for heir future happiness. On Thursday Miss Hunt was the recipient of a presentation and good wishes from her fellow employees, who entertained her at a picture party in the evening.

MIDHIRST SOCIAL NOTES Miss L. Dill has left to reside, in the Auckland district. Mrs. Town end is in a private hosr pital, where she underwent an operation for appendicitis. A pleasant afternoon was held at Mrs. W. Bunning's home recently, Mrs. Bunning entertained her guests with competitions, the winners being Mrs. a. Guthrie and Miss Lawn. Those present were: Mesdames J. Vickers; L. Vickers; A. Guthrie; Marton (Ratapiko); C. Carroll; V. Carroll; Wjhittaker; G. Smith; 'A. Graham; P. Anderson; C. Symonds; A. Hunter; W. Anderson; W. Piatt; F. Spencer and Miss Lawn. Mrs. A. Hunter was hostess at an enjoyable afternoon last week. After noon tea was served, followed by competitions. The winners were Mesdames L. Vickers and V.'Carrol. Those present were: Mesdames F. Spencer; V. Carrol; C. ' Carrol; W. Bunning; L. Vickers; W,. Anderson; A. Graham; G. Vickers; P. Anderson; G. Smith; and Miss Wardell. Mrs. P. Anderson entertained friends at her home early in the week, where an enjoyable, afternoon was spent with competitions. The winners l were Mesdames W. Piatt and A. Hunter. Those present were: Mesdames A. Guthrie; F. Spencer; C. Carrol; V. Carrol; W. Bunning; G. Smith; L. Vickers; A. Hunter; J. Vickers; W. Piatt; and Miss Wlar. dell.
