Advance in Prices at. Douglas

At the dairy cattle sale conducted by Messrs Newton King Ltd. at Douglas there was a large attendance and keen bidding. Advanced prices were recorded and a full clearance of a, good yardhi,g of about 70 head was effected. The sale throughout was bright, and a free feeling was displayed in buying, making the event the best sale of the season. The top price of the day was gained on second calvers. the hammer falling at £8 ss, and a line of good yearling heifers was cleared at £3. The quotations were as follow: Young cows in calf from £(1 5s to £8 ss, poorer sorts £1 to £4 15s; calved heifers £5 2s Gd to £G ss; springing heifers £4 15s to £6 7s Gd.

In the store pens a line of good conditioned bullocks changed; hands at £3 15s, and good conditioned P.A. cows brought forward £3 3s.
