Annua! Report

Following is the annual report to be presented at the meeting of the Methodist Tennis Club, which will take place tonight:— On September 12, 1932, the annual meeting was held, when officers and executive committee were elected for the ensuing season.. The opening day was held on October 6 and took the form of a tournament—President v. Vice-President. This function was a great success, a large crowd, Including viistors from other clubs being present. • Early in the season the club benefited greatly by the generous gift of a net, and later numerous repairs were effected to the umpires’ seats ar.d the pavilion verandah, so that tbe courts and surroundings were in good condition throughout the season. A number of matches were played with other clubs during the season, these helping to strengthen the standard of play amongst members. Yankee Tournaments and Ladder Matches proved very popular, aud were taken a great interest in all through the year. On the whole the season was a very successful one, and the outlook for the coming season already looks bright, and the club is looking forward to another happy and prosperous season.
