Kenneth Lumsden, a single man aged 24, Invercargill, was killed while motoring homo from a suburb with two companions late last evening. When the car was negotiating the New River ferry bridge a few miles from Invercargill the steering gear failed to respond and the car crashed into the bridge and overturned. pinning Lumsden and causing spine injuries to which he succumbed shortly after his arrival in hospital.
