Arrangement with Italian Shipping

The South African Government is subsidising Italian shipping for five years to the extent of £.150,000 per annum to carry Union exports to East and West ports and Genoa from which distribution to European centres will be made. The Italian Goyernnient is subsidising the compaies to the extent of £300,000. The steamers are refrigerated and the services will start in March. The supposed service is aeoclated with South Africa’s increased exports of Wool, sheepskins, hides to Prance, and wool, hides, skins, meat and copper to Italy. ;
