FOREIGN LOANS
REQUEST TO BORROWERS (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, July ?,. Mr. Neville Chamberlain (Chancellor of the Exchequer) had asked intending borrowers to refrain for the present from coming on the market for foreign issues, said Mr. L. Ho're-Belisha, financial Secretary to the Treasury, in reply to a question in the House of Commons to-day. If the Iraq Government, which stood in special relation to the British Government, requested special treatment, the extent to which its proposals would lead to placing orders in Britain would be one consideration taken into account in reaching a decision.
