SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

CARDIFF

Concert at Cardiff Oa Wednesday night the Cardiff Methodist Sunday School held their anniversary concert in the Cardiff Hall. There was a large audience which appreciated the items given, every one being encored. The anniversary services were held at the Cardiff church a week «ago by Uio Rev. T. Skuse, At the conclusion of the programme Mr. Skuse presented each child with ;i book.

Mrs. D. Brunton, the head teacher, gave a resume of the year's work of the class. She said that there were 48 children on the roll and she appealed for another one. The programme was: pianoforte duet, Misses D. and M. Hoskin; song, Robin Adair, all the children; recitation, Doggie Solomon, Fred Ilollins; song, Billy Roy, children; recitation, Rain. Dulic Smith, Eric Purdy and Clem Relf; Song, Miss E. Gadsby; recitation, Betty Brunton, Gladys Roll', Hazel Purdy, Spanish Waters; song, Rev. T. Skuse; elocutionary items. Miss E. Longstaff; song, Mrs. Adams; hymn, Low in the Grave, Bible class members; elocutionary items, Miss E. Longstaff; song, Good Night Ladies, all the children. Mr. T. Skuse occupied the chair. Flag Five Hundred Party On Tuesday evening a Hag five hundred party was held in the local hall. There was a good attendance of players and several interesting games were played. The winning table with 23 points comprised Mesdames W. Myers, 1). Brunton and Messrs. Jordan senr., and R. Pal leaden. The travelling prizes which were donated by Mrs. Aagaard and Mr. G. Aagaard were won by Miss Townsend and Mr. N. Jordan, junr. A tasty supper was served by the hall committee. Mr. 11. B. Limmer was in charge of the party. Personal Ml',, Mrs. and Miss Corinno Wickham a>'e spending the holidays at New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. C. Hawkes have returned home from n short holiday spent iu New Plymouth.
